Susie

Happy Endings

Adopted June 2011 by Wanda Pulfer & Jay Crawley

We adopted Susie (& kept her name) in June 2011 when she was 2 1/2 years old. She had been abused--was so afraid, was terrified being on a leash, didn't know what a ball or toy was. We had a trainer come to the house to train "us."  Susie was eager to please & also learned how to be a dog from her golden sister (13 year old Molly). They had 11 months together. With time, patience & lots of love she learned that not all people were bad & became a real social butterfly. She never really got into toys but loved going to the lake & swimming out for tennis balls. She doesn't give typical golden kisses but gives the best hugs. She loved going for daily rides but now that she's older & I have a different vehicle she doesn't do that any more but absolutely loves her walks, gets very vocal when she knows it's time & practically gallops down the street. She turned 14 on December 31, 2022.  She's the sweetest, most gentle old soul. Each day is a blessing & a gift. We love her so much--best girl ever!
